Your Consultation

Dr Turner and his team are committed to providing you with guidance and support throughout your journey. We are equally as passionate about cosmetic plastic surgery as we are about you and your experience with us. We are here to listen, educate, and support you throughout your cosmetic surgical journey.

Getting in Touch

The first step is for you to contact our rooms and speak with our patient coordinators. They will provide you with information about our practice and the process for arranging consultations with Dr Turner at his Bondi Junction or Manly clinics.

New Australian Regulations about Cosmetic Surgery

New regulations set out by AHPRA in regard to how cosmetic surgery is performed throughout Australia now require that before any cosmetic consultation, you need to provide a medical referral from your general practitioner or another suitable medical practitioner. All patients must now have two consultations within the practice with Dr Turner before they can proceed with surgery.

You may only book your planned surgery date after you have completed your second consultation with Dr Turner and waited for a 7-day cooling off period before signing a consent form and paying any deposits for professional fees towards surgery.

Also part of the regulations, there will be more patient screening to assess your psychological suitability for cosmetic surgery and patients will be provided with more detailed information about surgical risks and financial obligations.

Your Consultation

You need to arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment to fill in the patient forms. If a patient arrives late, we will endeavor to accommodate the appointment; however, a further appointment may be required to provide the patient with sufficient information and patient attention regarding the surgical enquiry.

Please allow 45 to 60 minutes for your first consultation. Dr Turner will discuss your aesthetic concerns, provide detailed information, and carefully explain the techniques, benefits, and risks of surgical procedures available.

Be prepared to discuss:

  • Why you want the surgery, your expectations, and desired outcome.
  • Medical conditions, drug allergies, and previous medical treatments.
  • Use of current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol and tobacco.
  • Previous surgeries
  • Family history of breast cancer as well as any previous breast cancer treatment and results of any mammograms or previous biopsies.

At your consultation, you will be given the opportunity to view before and after photos from those of our patients who have kindly consented to make these available to you.

Dr Turner will discuss your options which include surgery with him, procedures offered by other health practitioners, and the option of not having the surgery, such as the option of non-surgical treatments such as those offered at FacePlus Aesthetics.

After your Consultation

Once you have made your decision to have surgery with Dr Turner, our practice manager will attend to the finer details of booking your procedure. They will provide you with comprehensive information relating to your pre-operative requirements, as well as your aftercare appointments and post-operative instructions. Throughout your journey we are here to support you and answer your queries, so you can feel comfortable as you prepare for your surgery.

You will be given a detailed estimate of the total costs of your proposed surgery which will include fees for surgery by Dr Turner, anaesthetist fees, and hospital fees, plus any fees for any assistant surgeon, implants, garments, or other supplies as applicable. Possible costs for further or revisional treatment and payment terms will be explained.
