How Much Does Plastic Surgery Cost in Sydney, Australia?
The costs associated with cosmetic surgery can vary significantly around Australia, from surgeon to surgeon, and are a reflection of the experience and expertise of the surgeon you choose.
The fee for any surgery is determined according to the duration and complexity of your cosmetic surgery procedure. It will also vary based on eligibility for Medicare and whether you have private health insurance.
A fully customised quote for your plastic surgery procedure is available when you come in for a confidential consultation. Your quote will outline:
- Facility fee: If your surgery attracts an item number, you may only need to pay any excess amount to your health care fund.
- Surgeons fee: If this attracts an item number, you could be eligible to claim a rebate.
- Anaesthetist: The cost will vary according to the anaesthetic required (local or general). It’s usually charged on an hourly basis and you may be able to claim part of the cost.
- Assistants Fee (if applicable)
- Devices: Breast implants, cheek or chin implants.
Can I get a Quote before my Consultation?
Yes, you can contact our patient coordinator via email or phone and a general price estimate can be provided for your specific procedure. We recommend that you email images and detail your concerns so Dr Turner can review your suitability prior to making a booking for your consultation.
How to pay for your Surgery with Dr Turner?
To secure your desired surgery date, a $1,000 deposit is required. This deposit cannot be paid until 7 days after your second consultation with Dr Turner, due to changes in Cosmetic Surgery Regulations set out by AHPRA.
Full payment will be required at least 2 weeks prior to your surgery theatre date.
Do you offer Payment Plans?
No medical practitioner in Australia is allowed to directly offer payment plans for surgery. However, many medical finance companies like Total Lifestyle Credit (TLC) are available to be used by our patients to provide funding for their cosmetic surgery.
If the patient is seeking finance options, however, this is a decision that is completely at the patient’s discretion and we are impartial and not involved when it comes to the choice of payment which the patient decides to opt for. Will your Health Insurance pay for your Cosmetic Surgery?
For some plastic surgery procedures, if you fulfill strict criteria, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. If you also have private health insurance, they may further subsidise your surgery costs with Dr Turner.
Patients are advised to consult with their health fund provider to confirm coverage for the type of surgery they are undertaking. Other details to consider include your level of coverage, waiting periods, and any possible health coverage exceptions.
