FAQ’s

Am I an ideal candidate for buttocks augmentation?

An ideal candidate for butt augmentation is seeking a better defined backside. Additionally, they should be someone who is at least 18 years old, physically and mentally healthy, and seeking improvement rather than perfection.

What are the risks and side effects associated with buttocks augmentation?

The risks and side effects that may arise with butt enhancement include negative reaction to anaesthesia, infection, excessive bleeding, butt implant shifting or rupture, and/or asymmetry. When using fat injections in the buttocks for enlargement, a patient may need one or two follow up procedures because this technique isn’t as long-lasting as butt implants.

How is the buttock augmentation procedure performed? How many techniques are available?

There are two techniques used for buttock augmentation: buttocks implants and fat transfer to the buttocks. With implants, an incision is made low on the buttock, where the crease meets the back of the thigh, and the butt implant is then inserted. Or, fat can be taken from one area of the body and injected into the buttocks with a syringe.

Does buttock augmentation look fake? Will I be able to tell the difference on myself?

If performed correctly, buttock augmentation should appear natural. Others may not be able to tell that you’ve undergone the procedure, but you should notice an enhanced butt size and shape. Fat transplant results are more subtle than those produced by butt implants.

Will I need to wear a compression garment after my buttock augmentation?

Yes, a compression garment should be worn for a few days following your buttock augmentation surgery.

Is there pain, swelling, scarring or numbness involved? About how long should I expect to experience these effects?

Pain and swelling are normal and should subside after the first few days following surgery. Scarring should be hidden in the crease beneath the buttocks, but if they are visible, they should fade over time. There is a potential that numbness may occur, but it should also diminish over time.

When can I return to work, exercise or strenuous activity?

Following buttocks enlargement, you may return to work within a few days. Strenuous activities, including exercise, should be avoided for several weeks to two months.

How long does it take for me to see the desired results?

You should notice results immediately after surgery; however, the full outcome will be most noticeable after the swelling subsides over the course of the first several weeks.

What should I expect during the consultation and after surgery?

During the consultation, you can expect an examination of your buttocks, as well as your reasons for inquiring about the procedure. At this time, the plastic surgeon will explain the surgery and you will be able to ask any questions you may have. In the month or two following surgery, you will still continue visiting the doctor for regular check ups.

How long does buttock augmentation last?

The results of butt augmentation are permanent when butt implants are used. However, when fat transfer is used for enhancement, the outcome may not be as long-lasting and follow-up injections may be necessary.
