  • Discussion of Risks and Limitations: A clear explanation of potential risks, complications, and limitations of treatment—ensuring you are fully informed before making a decision.
  • Photographic Reference: With your consent, clinical photographs may be taken for your confidential medical record. Dr Turner may also show examples of previous patient outcomes (with consent) to help illustrate possible results.
  • Cost Estimate: You’ll receive a general outline of the associated costs, including the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, hospital or facility charges, and any item numbers relevant to Medicare or private health cover.
  • Time for Questions: You are encouraged to ask any and all questions. Dr Turner takes the time to ensure you fully understand your options before moving forward.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

To make the most of your consultation:

  • Bring a GP Referral: A valid GP referral is now required for all consultations with a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Australia—regardless of whether the procedure is cosmetic or medically indicated. If your procedure may be eligible for a Medicare rebate a referral is also essential to access any applicable benefits.
  • Bring Medical Information: This includes your full medical history, a list of current medications (including supplements), and any known allergies.
  • Prepare Your Questions: It’s helpful to write down any questions or concerns beforehand to ensure they’re addressed during your visit.
  • Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose clothing that allows for easy examination of the area you wish to discuss.
  • Know Your Goals: Spend some time thinking about what you would like to achieve. If helpful, you can bring reference photos—but please understand these are general guides, not guarantees.

After Your Consultation

Following your consultation, you’ll receive:

  • A personalised recommendation based on your aesthetic goals
  • A detailed written quote with relevant cost information
  • Educational materials specific to the proposed procedure

There’s no pressure to make an immediate decision. We encourage you to take your time, consider your options, and reach out with any follow-up questions. Should you choose to proceed, our team will guide you through each step of the booking and pre-operative process.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Double Bay or Manly clinic and supporting you on your journey with care and expertise.
