Procedure Of The Month – Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is our procedure of the month and is one of Dr Turner’s most popular procedures performed on a regular basis.
Is Labiaplasty for you?
The Labiaplasty procedure is sometimes referred to as vaginal rejuvenation surgery and has become increasingly popular with many women experiencing discomfort when wearing tight fitting clothing, exercising or being intimate, which can lead to body self-consciousness. Recent media attention has empowered many women of late to realise that Labiaplasty is an option that is accessible to them and has increased the demand for the procedure significantly.
This popular procedure is covered by Medicare but as of late last year, after a consultation with Dr Turner you will be asked to have your details submitted to the Department of Human Services in order to apply for approval for your Labiaplasty surgery. Of course, if you do not wish to be covered by Medicare, you are able to still go ahead, although you are not eligible for any rebates from any health funds from your surgery.
Are there risks with the procedure?
Labiaplasty surgery is not without its risks which are no different to any other surgical procedure. Risks include bruising, swelling, bleeding, asymmetry, wound infection and scarring. Please note the clitoris is not touched during the Labiaplasty procedure and changes in sensation should not be experienced.
The best way to avoid such risks is to have your consultation with an accomplished and highly qualified cosmetic plastic surgeon that has performed this procedure numerous times with highly desirable results. Dr Turner is available for a consultation at any of our 4 locations in Sydney and Newcastle. Call us today on 1300 437 758 and speak to one of our friendly staff.
