Round Breast Implants Before and After Photos Bondi Junction & Manly, Sydney

BA_BreastAugmentation-img

Dr Scott J Turner — Specialist Plastic Surgeon, FRACS

This gallery shows before and after photos from patients who underwent breast augmentation with round implants at Dr Scott J Turner's Sydney clinics. All photographs are of real patients, taken under consistent conditions, and have not been digitally altered.

Round implants are the most widely used implant type worldwide. Whether they are the right choice for a given patient depends on individual anatomy — chest wall dimensions, existing tissue, and skin quality — as well as the patient's goals. The photos here represent individual patient outcomes and should not be taken as a prediction of what any other person's result will look like.

What This Gallery Shows

The before and after photos in this gallery are from patients who had round breast implants placed with Dr Turner. Cases shown include a range of implant sizes and profiles, including low, moderate, and high projection options. Placement techniques include submuscular (under the muscle), dual plane, and subglandular (above the muscle) approaches, selected based on each patient’s individual anatomy.

About Round Breast Implants

Round implants have a symmetrical profile — the same shape throughout. Because of this, they maintain their aesthetic appearance even if some natural movement occurs within the breast pocket over time. This is a practical advantage over shaped implants, where rotation can affect the visual result.

Round implants typically create fuller volume in the upper part of the breast. They are often suited to patients who have well-shaped existing breast tissue and are looking to increase volume, particularly in the upper pole. The right implant size and profile for any individual is determined by detailed chest wall measurements, not by cup size preferences.

Dr Turner’s most commonly used round implants include Motiva nanotextured implants and the Mentor MemoryGel Siltex range, both of which have established long-term safety records.

Sydney Consultations — Bondi Junction and Manly

Consultations take place at two Sydney locations:

Bondi Junction — Eastern Suburbs. Surgery is performed at Bondi Junction Private Hospital. Manly — Suite 504, Level 5, 39 East Esplanade, Manly NSW 2095. Surgery is performed at Delmar Private Hospital, Dee Why.

All surgery is performed in Sydney regardless of where the initial consultation takes place.

Understanding Your Results

After photos in this gallery are taken at three months or later, once initial swelling has resolved. Round implants continue to settle and soften over the first six to twelve months. Your own healing timeline will depend on individual factors including placement technique, implant size, and your body’s healing response.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some patients choose round implants over anatomical (teardrop) implants?

Round implants suit patients who have adequate existing breast tissue and are looking to increase overall volume, particularly in the upper pole. They are also the preferred option in situations where implant stability over time is a priority, as the symmetrical shape means rotation doesn’t affect the visual result. Dr Turner will assess your anatomy and discuss which implant type is more appropriate for your individual case.

What implant sizes are shown in this gallery?

The gallery includes a range of implant volumes. Implant size is measured in cubic centimetres (cc), not bra cup size. Size selection is based on your chest wall width, tissue coverage, and the visual outcome you are hoping to achieve — not on a number chosen from a list.

Are round implants placed under or over the muscle?

Either placement is possible. Dr Turner uses submuscular, dual plane, and subglandular approaches depending on each patient’s anatomy and tissue coverage. Dual plane placement is commonly used for patients with limited breast tissue, as it allows the muscle to partially cover the upper portion of the implant.

How long do round breast implants last?

Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices. Most patients can expect implants to remain in place for ten years or longer without issue, though individual variation exists. Regular follow-up and imaging is recommended. Replacement or revision may be needed at some point due to changes in the implant or surrounding tissue.

What does the consultation process involve for breast augmentation in Australia?

A GP referral is required before your first consultation. You will then attend at least two consultations with Dr Turner before surgery can be scheduled. A psychological evaluation and a mandatory cooling-off period also apply under current AHPRA regulations. Dr Turner’s team will guide you through each of these steps at the time of enquiry.
