Where Surgery Is Performed

All surgery is performed in Sydney, in accredited private hospitals, with a specialist anaesthetist.

  • Bondi Junction Private Hospital, Level 1, 21 Spring Street, Bondi Junction NSW 2022
  • Delmar Private Hospital, 58 Quirk Street, Dee Why NSW 2099

Patients who consult in Newcastle or Canberra have surgery at one of these hospitals. The hospital is chosen according to the procedure, the anaesthetic and the planned length of stay, and is confirmed in writing before surgery is scheduled.

All surgery carries risks. Risks, recovery and possible complications are discussed at consultation and set out in the guide to risks and complications.

Your Surgeon

Dr Scott J Turner is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Sydney. He holds Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and specialist registration in plastic surgery with AHPRA. He completed fellowship training in facial aesthetic surgery and is certified by the Australian and New Zealand Board of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. Dr Turner consults at each of the clinics on this page, and his profile sets out his training and qualifications in full.

Travelling to Sydney for Surgery

Patients who consult in Newcastle or Canberra complete assessment and planning locally, then travel to Sydney for surgery. Patients on the Mid North Coast, including Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, can consult in Newcastle, and patients from the Central West usually consult at one of the Sydney clinics. One of the required consultations can be held by video, so a single visit is generally enough for the consultation stage.

Many procedures involve an overnight stay, and early post-operative reviews commonly take place at around day 3 and day 7. Depending on the procedure, Newcastle patients can often travel home the same day or the day after surgery, and their one-week review can be held in Sydney or Newcastle. The review schedule for your procedure is confirmed before surgery, and accommodation options near the hospital are discussed at consultation. Later routine reviews can take place at your local clinic or, where clinically appropriate, by telehealth. The out-of-town patient guide covers planning your stay.

Booking a Consultation

A referral from a registered medical practitioner, such as your GP, is required before your first consultation. At least two pre-operative consultations with Dr Turner are required before cosmetic surgery, and at least one of these is held in person. A cooling-off period of at least seven days applies before surgery can be booked or a deposit paid.

After your consultation you receive a written, itemised quote and surgical plan before any commitment is made. Indicative fees are published on the plastic surgery prices page, and the guide to choosing your surgeon sets out checks worth making before you book.

To arrange a consultation at any clinic, phone 1300 437 758 or contact the practice.
